Angel Manfredy, also known as "El Diablo" (The Devil), is a former professional boxer from Gary, Indiana. He was born on October 30, 1974. Manfredy competed in the super featherweight and lightweight divisions during his career.
Manfredy turned professional in 1993 and quickly gained a reputation as an entertaining and fearless fighter. He captured the WBU super featherweight title in 1996 and went on to face some of the top boxers in his weight classes, including Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Arturo Gatti.
One of Manfredy's most memorable fights was against Gatti in 1998, where he scored a stunning knockout victory. He held the WBU lightweight title in 1999 before losing it to Stevie Johnston later that year.
Manfredy retired from boxing in 2004 with a professional record of 43 wins (32 by knockout), 8 losses, and 1 draw. Since retiring, he has dealt with personal struggles and legal issues but remains a beloved figure in the boxing world for his exciting fights and charismatic personality.
